Brief Introduction
Laser hair removal primarily relies on the principle of selective photothermolysis, which involves adjusting the wavelength, energy, and pulse width of the laser to penetrate the skin’s surface and reach the root of the hair follicle. The absorbed light energy is converted into heat energy, thereby damaging the hair follicle tissue and preventing hair from growing again. This method of hair removal not only eliminates the hair’s regenerative ability but also avoids damaging the surrounding normal tissue, making it a relatively safe hair removal method.
Technology
The four-band laser hair removal device is mainly based on the principle of selective photothermal effect of laser. Lasers of different wavelengths can penetrate the surface of the skin and directly act on the roots of hair follicles, converting light energy into heat energy, destroying the hair follicle tissue, and making the hair lose its regeneration ability, thereby achieving the purpose of hair removal. The four-band design enables the device to cover a wider range of hair follicle types and skin types, improving the pertinence and effectiveness of hair removal.
Types of Four Wavelengths Laser Hair Removal Devices
1. Alexandrite Laser Wavelength: 755nm. Characteristics: With a relatively long wavelength and deeper penetration depth compared to ruby lasers, the Alexandrite Laser is one of the more widely used laser hair removal devices in clinical practice. It boasts excellent treatment effects and relatively few side effects, which primarily include transient and mild reactions such as erythema, skin pigmentation, and folliculitis. it is suitable for hair removal on all body parts, especially convenient for special areas such as the lips and hairline. It has relatively low selectivity for skin color, mild adverse reactions, and a high safety coefficient for hair removal treatments.
2. Diode Laser: Typically operating at a wavelength of 800nm or 810nm, this laser has strong absorption by melanin in hair follicles, effectively damaging them. At the same time, epidermal melanin absorbs less energy from diode lasers, offering advantages for hair removal in individuals with darker skin tones.
3. The infrared 940nm laser wavelength possesses strong penetrating power and selective absorption characteristics. In hair removal applications, the 940nm laser can penetrate through the skin surface and reach the area surrounding the hair follicles, particularly targeting the microvasculature around them. The 940nm laser effectively coagulates the microvasculature surrounding the hair follicles, cutting off their nutritional supply, thereby significantly reducing the hair regeneration ability and achieving the effect of completely inhibiting hair regrowth.
4. 1064nm Long-pulsed Nd:YAG Laser: It demonstrates significant hair removal effects, particularly effective for coarse and dark hair. Apart from edema and pain during treatment, the incidence of other adverse reactions such as pigmentation changes is low. It is particularly suitable for patients with darker skin tones
